The Orphanage in Bodbe village was built in 1960 for 350 children. Currently 98 orphans live in the orphanage.

This orphanage is an only institution in Kakheti region, where children with mental disorders and also children missing parents care live and study.

The orphanage has many problems impossible to solve with the Governmental financing.

The orphanage building needs to be renovated. The orphanage needs the furniture, the beds, clothing and footwear for children.

The American organization Treasures of the Heart Inc. assists the orphanage. This organization delivered food products, used clothing, two washing and two drying machines, and a vehicle. They also bought 21 sheep for the small farm of the orphanage. Currently the organization is conducting repair works of the water and electricity supply systems.

Together with periodic health rehabilitation programs for the orphanage which GENESIS carried out on several occasions, the GENESIS association with the support of the private donor Ursula Guillod bought shoes and some firewood supply for the orphanage.

I March 2002 representatives of the LIONS Clubs from Basel and Spiez have donated to the Orphanage warm winter boots and clothes.

The orphanage has good location with a nice landscaped area and a good climate. Many exciting ideas / projects could be fulfilled / implemented there. There are good conditions to organize small farm or enterprise. This would be effective to upgrade working skills of the children and also it could be a basis for self financing of the orphanage
